COVID- 19 Notice & Policy

We confirm we have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19

  •  We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and shared the results with those who work here. 

  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance.

  • We have taken all reasonable steps to help people work from home. 

  • We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the workplace.

  • Where people cannot be 2m apart, we have done everything practically possible to manage transmission risk.


Health Check

If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home.

Upon arrival you will be asked to scan the NHS Track & Trace and confirm you are not experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. 

We will not accept anyone onsite who does not scan the NHS Track & Trace App. 


STEP 2: Government Guidelines

We can now serve you inside - you will be permitted a group of 6 people from mixed households, or an unlimited number of people from two households. You will asked to confirm when booking and again when arriving.


Entering the building

On arrival we ask you sanitise your hands, then ring the doorbell to be seated. It is compulsory you wear a mask and this isn't removed until you are seated. Should you need to use the lavatory or move around the building, you are required to put the mask back on. We ask you sanitise your hands on the way in before touching any doors or handles.

Social Distancing

We are ensuring social distancing by complying with the latest government guidelines.                                                    

We have marked them out internally to help customers and our teams use them correctly.                                                       

Our tables externally and internally are laid out with safe spacing between them.                                     

We have digitalised most of our ordering and payment process in order to manage and monitor queues.                   

Our toilets are gender neutral, and meticulously cleaned every hour.                                          

We're asking you to work with us on these social distancing measures to keep us all safe and ensure you have the ability to have the best possible experience at The Royal Oak.     

Cleaning & Sanitation

We're super focused on ensuring The Royal Oak is a clean and safe environment for you and our staff. So we've introduced additional measures as a result.


We ask you use every hand sanitation station you pass. They are usually by doors, or surfaces we expect customers to touch - if you pass one, please use it. Our staff also use these and we have implemented a mandatory hand washing process every 20 minutes.                                               

Our teams are also responsible for additional cleaning and making sure tables are cleared properly.
